On 16th April 1960 Rock n’ Roll lost one of its major pioneers when Eddie Cochran died in a car crash at the end of an eleven week UK tour.

Eddie was backed by the best of the new British rock musicians including, Joe Brown and Marty Wilde’s Wild Cats, “Big” Jim Sullivan, Brian Locking, Tony Belcher and Brian Bennett.

During the tour Eddie showed this young rockers some licks and tricks including, tuning variations and foot peadl effects, which were all new at the time. “Big” Jim Sullivan, using what he had learned from Eddie, supplemented his income by giving guitar lessons to young musicians that included; Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Albert Lee and Eric Clapton.

  • CD features recordings from 1954 – 1960. The first is Eddie at 14 years old and the last from the legendary “Boy Meets Girl” TV show on 20 February 1960.
